Mario Che-Tiul was taken into custody by US Marshals on Gap Newport Pike in Avondale on Thursday, Sept. 21, according to the Barry County, Missouri Sheriff's Office.
Che-Tiul, 34, escaped from a prison in the county after assaulting two corrections officers on June 1, the Sheriff's Office previously said. He was one of six inmates to escape and the final one to be caught, said US Marshals.
Che-Tiul was serving a sentence for charges of molestation and incest according to CBS News, and was considered armed and dangerous by authorities.
His arrest comes just a week after convicted killer Danelo Cavalcante was arrested by state, local, and federal authorities following a two-week manhunt across Chester County.
Cavalcante, who scaled a wall at the Chesco lockup before jumping off the roof on Aug. 31, was captured when a DEA plane used thermal imaging to track him down to a wooded area near Route 100.
